As I was trying hard to put myself to sleep on a rather loooooooooooong sunday morning after a decent enough(thats's quite an understatement though) lunch, but to no avail.
So well here i am installed infront of my comp. jotting down, God-Knows-What, but i guess i can get away with it (Random Nonsense) officially permits me to keep hitting the keyoard without much thought.
With a lot of time on hand one does tend to drift into unknown territories(read philosophical hullabaloo). that's exactly what i was doing ruminating about the larger issues of humanity. LOL LOL LOL LOL.
A couple of days back I got hold of this book called the Idiot by a Russian writer called Fyodor Dostoyevsky. the first reaction back home was that of surprise on my getting a book so close to well u know who....(i might as well have just stood in front of the mirror, without having to take the pains of issuing a book).
Jokes apart more than half way through the book I am really forced to think what after all is so Idiosyncratic in being a simple and less complex being????
The fact that the protagonist is actually a very In-ur-face kind of a person who does not attach frills in his conversations and is more than direct and straight forward amidst the affluent, yet so superficial russian elite. if masks of artificiality are what one needs to adorn to look clever and sharp, then he'd rather stay stupid.
thats not very Idiosyncratic, i guess.

That's why they say when in roman, do as the roamn's do -- th estory needs to be taken in the context of the times and audience and not interpretted out of context, which probably is the case here.

The story is of course about a simpleton who knows nothing better than to be complacent to more advanced and let's say survival skills that in the modern times are almost not to be missed.

maybe the author of this blog can comment on the life and times of the russian author who wrote such a marvel, often taken out of context....
