Popular Cinema
I'm quite certain many of us would hold our own opinions about the same . our good 'ol hindi films their cliches, drawbacks action songs drama or rather lots of melodrama.
I'm generally unable to stay away from the popular culture for long becoz lemme just admit we might love to hate it or bad mouth the same but then we just CANNOT dissociate ourselves with them(Them bole toh apun ka hindi Fillums, fultu timepass.). only a few days back i managed to catch a show of one typical Bollywood masala movie.no wonder Hindi film industry is known to sell dreams. more than half of the film was in a dream sequence. again personifying the idea of dreaming, I think and to dream on and on and on and on. lot of dhinkchaak muzhik and jhatak clothes. for the uninitaited all i mean is the peppy dance numbers and colorful over the top vibrant clothes. for a while i did feel out of place and totally disgusted at the sorry state of affairs but after a while i was pretty much a part of the crowd. nevermind how i surprised I felt after the excruciatingly long three hours. But i had asked for it. the entire experience sitting with a bunch of people watching mindless nonsense, and paying for it on top of that. was i expecting to be surprised by cinematic marvel hahahahah. NAH ! nevah. when it comes to popular bollywood potboilers they should continue rocking our senses in the most wierd ways and never let the lights, the cameras, or the action STOP! play on and Dream on....

I suppose selective viewing is the answer.
